Cracks on the floor of fiberglass bathtubs and showers can turn into bigger holes, because of the stress of stepping on them. If you let them go long enough, the suport under the tub gives out, then you'll need to reinforce under the fiberglass. It usually requires concrete to be poured under the bathtub floor for suport.
